The Skagit River (SKAJ-it) and its tributaries drain a large area of the Cascade Mountain Range and flows into the Puget Sound. The river is about 150 miles long, it starts in southwestern British Columbia and crosses into the US where it forms Ross Lake by dam. From there it flows through Newhalem, a hydroelectric company town for Seattle City Light where it generates about 20% of Seattle's power. Continuing on it is joined by the Sauk River near Concrete, WA, and turns straight west, with many twists and turns making its way through Sedro-Wooley (shown below), Mt. Vernon, and forking into the Puget Sound, the North Fork being near La Conner.

Wildlife in the Lower Skagit River will include Bald eagles, golden eagles, great blue herons, seals, beavers and more! The fish in the river are mostly consisted of different types of salmon and trout. The salmon migrate up the river during their respective spawning season. Sturgeon can be found as well though few and far between.

The jet boat was built by SJX Jet Boats in Orofino, Idaho. Big thanks to SJX, they have mastered the shallow water river boating experience and put together a beautiful boat. These boats are used for competition fishing and hunting, as well as search and rescue operations, you can find them all over the Outdoor Channel. Our La Conner boat was just built in 2018, optimized for passenger comfort. With a boat like this it becomes a very private tour.

All of our Captains are USCG Licensed. Come and check out the Skagit River Tours!
